Atomization of liquids

 

The objective is to contribute to characterize the mechanisms involved in atomization of liquids at high Weber and Reynolds numbers. Experiences have been carried in pressure vessels with PIV techniques. A micro-telescope is used to zoom. Besides, numerical simulations are carried with the use of GERRIS code to study the influence of injector geometry on atomization. Hereafter some images of multi-hole and swirl injectors for different injection pressures (10 et 100 bar)
